Former AIG boss, Robert Benmosche, dies at 70
Former AIG chief executive officer and president Robert Benmosche has died at NYU Langone Medical Center.
He was 70 and had undergone treatment for lung cancer since 2010.
"We announce this news with profound sadness, and our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family at this difficult time," said Robert S. Miller, chairman of the AIG board of directors, in a statement. "Bob was one of the most inspirational and successful leaders in corporate America by any measure."
Benmosche served as AIG's president and CEO from August 2010, to September 2014, during which time, the company repaid the its $182.3bn taxpayer bailout and returned to profitability.
