Theresa May: Britain is facing greatest terror threat in history
Home Secretary Theresa May believes that the terror threat to the UK is now greater than at any other time in history.
May has warned that the dangers currently posed by Islamic State are larger than that of any other terror organisation ever.
In an interview with The Telegraph, May said that the government should "do more to recognise the shared values we have" in the UK in order to prevent the spread of Islamic extremism.
May recently revealed the new Government's Counter–Terrorism and Security Bill, which contains a series of initiatives designed to prevent the return of British–born jihadists who have recently travelled to Iraq or Syria, and may intend to carry out terrorist attacks in the UK.
The measure will ban jihadists from returning to the UK for at least two years, stripping them of their passport and preventing insurers from reimbursing ransoms made to terrorist groups.
