Friday preview: UK consumer confidence, public sector borrowing in focus
The market spotlight at the end of the week will continue to be on the UK, barring surprises.
Overnight, consultancy GfK will publish the results of its closely-followed consumer confidence survey for March.
That will be followed by data for February covering public sector net borrowing, before the London open at 0700 GMT.
No major economic reports are scheduled for release in the US.
The economic calendar for Friday is similarly sparse across the Channel.
Thus, the lone economic indicator due out is a reading for German producer prices in February.
Investors will also keep an eye out for European Central Bank Governing Council member Fabio Panetta, who is due to deliver a speech at 1045 GMT.
