Friday preview: U.S: consumer confidence, Citigroup and Wells Fargo results due out
Financial markets' focus at the end of the week will likely continue to be very much on the U.S..
At 1500 BST, the University of Michigan was scheduled to publish the preliminary results of its consumer confidence survey for the month of October, including gauges for inflation expectations.
It would be preceded by a reading on U.S. import prices for the month of October at 1330 BST.
Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey meanwhile was scheduled to speak at 0900 BST at the International Institute of Finance.
At 1400 BST, European Central Bank boss, Christine Lagarde, was due to participate on an IMF panel.
On the corporate side of things, quarterly results were due out from Citigroup, J.P.Morgan and Wells Fargo.
Analysts were anticipating $1.21 in quarterly earnings per share from the former for the September quarter.
The latter's third-quarter EPS meanwhile was pegged to come in at $1.25 with analysts anticipating $1.25 and investors likely to be keeping an eye on how much it set aside for impairments, said Michael Hewson, chief market analyst at CMC Markets UK.
