Friday preview: US retail sales, China CPI in the spotlight
All eyes at the end of the week will be on a deluge of key macroeconomic indicators due out in the States.
But first, overnight, China's National Bureau of Statistics was set to publish consumer and producer price data for the month of September.
Also due out in Beijing were foreign trade statistics covering that same month.
Against that backdrop, at 1330 BST the US Department of Commerce was to provide updates for retail sales and import prices for the month of September.
They would be followed, at 1500 BST, by a preliminary reading on US consumer confidence for the month of October, courtesy of the University of Michigan.
Included in that consumer survey would be the closely followed subindices tracking inflation expectations one and five-to-10 years out.
No major economic releases were scheduled in the UK.
Across the Channel meanwhile, final readings for French and Spanish consumer prices were expected to come out at 0745 BST and 0800 BST, respectively.
