Thursday preview: ECB, IG Group in focus

At 1215 BST, rate-setters in Frankfurt are widely expected to announce a 25 basis point reduction in all of the ECB's main policy rates.

That would leave the main refinancing rate at 4.0% and the rate on the deposit facility at 3.5%.

There is also a fair amount of interest in what the monetary authority may have to say on the outlook for policy.

Worth noting, the ECB announcement will precede the US Federal Reserve's rate decision that is due out during the following week.

In the States, at 1230 BST the Department of Labor is scheduled to publish the latest weekly jobless claims figures and monthly producer price data.

IG Group will deliver an update on first quarter revenues on Thursday.

UBS analyst Haley Tam has pencilled in revenues of £257.3m, versus the consensus for £233.8m.

At the time of its full-year results, IG had signalled that it was comfortable with the analyst consensus for full-year FY25 revenues of approximately £1.03m.
