In Japan meanwhile, investors will be digesting consumer price data for the month of July.
No major economic announcements are scheduled in the UK, US or euro area.
For StanChart's second quarter results, UBS analyst Jason Napier has penciled-in adjusted profits before tax of $981m.
Net interest income meanwhile was seen dipping 1.0% year-on-year to $1.64bn, alongside a 9% drop in non-interest income to $1.87bn.
He was also anticipating "modest" loan loss charges, which might allow the lender to beat its capital ratio targets.
However, falling three-month HIBOR rates and lower IPO loans were expected to drag on the StanChart's profitability.
For the full-year, Wealth and Financial Markets revenues would decide whether management met its goals.
