Wednesday preview: US ADP report, China factory PMI, euro area CPI in focus
Financial markets' focus on Wednesday is likely to be on consultancy ADP's US private sector payrolls report for August.
Coming as it does two days before the official non-farm payrolls report, it tends to centre media attention, although from one month to the next it does not necessarily track the government report very closely, as July left abundantly clear.
A speech from Cleveland Fed boss, Loretta Mester, at 1400 BST will also be closely watched, while her peer at the Atlanta Fed, Raphael Bostic, is set to deliver another speech after the close of markets in London, at 2330 BST.
Against that backdrop, overnight China's National Bureau of Statistics will release its manufacturing sector survey for August.
Across the Channel meanwhile, all eyes will be on a preliminary reading for euro area consumer prices in August.
The consensus is for the year-on-year rate of increase in headline prices to tick higher by one tenth of a percentage point to 9.0%.
Also due out are readings for German unemployment during the same month and for French household consumption referencing the month of July.
In the UK, Lloyds Bank will release its business barometre for the month of August.
