Minnesota death causes outrage as video of aftermath goes viral
Philando Castile died after being shot by a police officer on Wednesday
- The deceased's partner uploads Facebook Live stream of aftermath of incident
- Thousands have taken to the streets and social media to protest about the killing
Protests are continuing in the US after a black man was shot dead in Minnesota by law enforcement officers, just a day before another man was killed in Louisiana in similar circumstances.
Footage of the aftermath of the incident in which 32-year-old Philando Castile was fatally shot has circulated online after the man's partner recorded the incident via a Facebook Live stream.
On Tuesday, Alton Sterling was killed during an incident in Baton Rouge, which was also captured on camera, appearing to show the man being shot while being restrained on the ground.
Street protests began in the area where Castile was killed, and have intensified in the area of Louisiana where the first attack took place.
Social media has been awash with those criticising the acts of the police officers with the hashtags #falcolnheightsshooting #philandocastile and #blacklivesmatter.
