Apple no longer discloses how many iPhones it sells each quarter but, in January, research firm IDC said Apple shipped 90.1m devices during the fourth quarter of 2020.
The new iPhones are still high in demand but consumers prefer the older iPhone 11 or the other two versions of the iPhone 12.
Momentum behind the initial launch of the iPhone 12 helped the company book a record holiday quarter in 2020, bringing in over $100bn in a quarter for the first time in its history.
The company is reportedly still expecting to build 230m iPhones in 2021, up 11.6% from 2020, according to Nikkei.
