Facebook gives WHO free ads to combat coronavirus
Facebook will provide free ad space on its platform for the World Health Organization to promote ways to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and ensure users are not misinformed about the disease.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said on Tuesday: "We're giving the WHO as many free ads as they need for their coronavirus response along with other in-kind support.”
Users will see posts regarding the virus on their Facebook page that will direct them to the WHO or local health authority website for the latest updates.
According to Reuters, Zuckerberg also pledged again that the company would remove false claims and conspiracy theories to combat misinformation about the coronavirus.
In February, the company said it would ban advertisements for products offering any cures or prevention around the coronavirus outbreak.
Other platforms such as Pinterest have also taken action and now users who search for “coronavirus” on the “inspirational” social media platform take users to a curated web page.
Also, WHO launched an account on video app TikTok late last week.
