Beleaguered German car maker Volkswagen will push back the release of its 2015 results and annual shareholders’ meeting as it needs more time to crunch the numbers following the emissions scandal.

The company attributed the delay to “remaining open questions and the resulting valuation calculations relating to the diesel emissions issue” and said new dates will be announced as soon as possible.
“In this regard, Volkswagen will achieve the best possible transparent and reliable outcome for its shareholders and stakeholders,” it said.
VW said that before special items, it expects the operating results to come in at the previous year’s level, within the expected range for fiscal year 2015.
“The timing of the report clarifying the background and responsibilities connected to the diesel emission issue is not affected by this decision. Volkswagen is sticking to the timing and plans to publish the findings in the second half of April.”
The results had previously been planned for release on 10 March.
At 1450 GMT, VW shares were up 2.9% to €103.95.
