What to expect from Wednesday's iPhone 7 release
Poor Apple has been through the wars during the last week after the EU ruled it had to pay €13bn in backtaxes to Ireland, but every cloud has a silver lining. Hoping to take advantage of Samsung's exploding battery troubles, the US tech giant will reveal its long awaited iPhone 7 at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday.
Social media has been awash with rumours about what the new version of the smartphone will or won't contain, so here's a rundown of what people are expecting to see at the launch event.
Hit the road, jack.
The iPhone 7 is widely expected to be the first that does not have a headphone jack to connect it, as Apple pressures its customers into wireless Bluetooth connections.
Waterproofing
Despite claims from some users that the iPhone 6 and 6S have the capability of withstanding some exposure to water, it's possible that the newest version will have an official IPX number, which measures its ability to withstand water.
iOS 10
A new software system is guaranteed and will be introduced to all iPhones, not just the iPhone 7.
New and improved camera
Much of the speculation surrounding the iPhone 7 is concerned with its camera, and the possible introduction of a new dual lens snapper.
New home button
The home button has traditionally been the only physical moving part of the Apple iPhone series, but a simpler design may lead to a touch sensitive button instead.
