Eurozone employment rises 0.3% in the fourth quarter
Euro-area employment rose 0.3% in the fourth quarter compared to the previous three months, Eurostat revealed on Tuesday.
Compared to the same quarter a year ago, employment increased 1.2% in the euro area.
In the third quarter, employment gained 0.3% on the quarter and 1.1% on the year.
Eurostat estimated that in the fourth quarter there were 229.9 million men and women employed in the European Union’s 28 member countries of which 151.9 million were in the euro area.
