Eurozone industrial production declines for first time in three months in September
Industrial production in the Eurozone declined for the first time in three months in September, figures released on Wednesday showed.
According to Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office, construction output in the 19-country bloc declined a seasonally adjusted 0.4% month-on-month in September compared with an upwardly revised 0.5% gain in August.
On a year-on-year basis, construction output climbed 1.8% year in September compared with a downwardly revised 1.4% decline in the previous month. The figure marked the first increase in four months, Eurostat said.
Slovakia, Hungary and the Netherlands reported the highest advance in monthly construction output, while the largest monthly drop were recorded in Portugal, Sweden and Slovenia.
Meanwhile, in the European Union as a whole, construction output grew 0.6% year-on-year in September, maintaining the same rate of growth from the previous month.
