Eurozone investors' confidence hits eight-month low in October
Eurozone investors’ confidence fell to an eight-month low in October, a survey published on Monday found.
According to figures released by German think tank Sentix, the investor sentiment index declined from 13.6 in September to 11.7 in October, marking the weakest reading since February 2015.
The current conditions sub-index slid from 15 to 13, while the gauge of expectations dropped from 12.3 to 10.5, the lowest level since last December.
In Germany, the Eurozone’s biggest economy, investors’ sentiment tumbled to the lowest level since the turn of the year, as the index monitoring confidence declined from 20.6 to 17.8 in October.
The sub-indices tracking the current situation and future expectations both weakened, with the former sliding from 37.9 to 35.1, the lowest level since January, while the former dropped from 4.4 in September to 1.8, the worst reading since November last year.
