Eurozone retail sales miss forecast in October
Eurozone retail sales declined unexpectedly in October, data released on Thursday showed.
According to Eurostat, the European Union’s statistics office, retail sales in the 19-country currency bloc fell 0.1% month-on-month in October, compared with analysts’ expectations for a 0.2% gain and with a 0.1% decline in the previous month.
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales grew 2.5% last month compared with a 2.9% advance in October and short of consensus expectations for a 2.6% gain.
