Greece must carry out reforms quickly to get financing, Tsipras says
Greece must carry out its programme of reforms quickly in order to receive financing, prime minister Alexis Tsipras said over the weekend.
Recently re-elected Tsipras, who was speaking to his party's lawmakers as the new parliament was sworn in, said he would carry out the wide-ranging reforms by mid-November in order to unlock the next tranche of its bail-out deal.
"Implementing the bailout is not going to be easy," he was quoted by Reuters as saying. "But we are obliged to make these decisions although we don't like them."
He continued: "It's necessary, in order to exit this system of surveillance and immediately start the discussion on the debt issue.
"Our main target is to exit this system of supervision, and regain market access. But a necessary condition for that is to return to growth."
