US factory orders rise in July
US factory orders rose in July following two consecutive monthly decreases, increasing by 1.9% month-on-month (consensus: 1.9%) to reach $454.8bn, according to the US Department of Commerce.
That followed a 1.8% drop in the month before.
Orders for durable goods meanwhile jumped 4.4% to $228.6bn, according to a revised estimate contained in the same report.
Factory shipments slipped by 0.2% over the month to $458.9bn after rising by 0.6% in the month before, while unfilled orders declined by 0.1% to $1.13trn.
