US trade deficit slips in September
The US trade deficit in goods declined by $3.1bn in September from the month before to reach $56.1bn, according to preliminary data from the US Census Bureau.
Economists had forecast a shortfall of $60.5bn.
Exports rose by $1.lbn during month-on-month to hit $125.6bn while imports fell by $2.0bn to $181.7bn.
