Madrid-based Martankers specialises in the shipping of bulk chemicals and gases, Clarkson said on Thursday. “It has a primary focus on the European markets, but also boasts a considerable global footprint,” it added.
The business would continue to operate from Madrid and be integrated within Clarkson's specialised products and petrochemical gases divisions.
Clarkson chief executive Andi Case said the accretive acquisition would provide an established opening in Spain and enhanced growth opportunities.
“It will help us gain share in the bulk chemicals and gas markets, strengthening our global market leading position,” he said.
