US pre-open: Futures trade higher, major indices on track for winning week
Wall Street futures were in the green ahead of the bell on Friday, with major indices on track to close out the week higher.
As of 1230 BST, Dow Jones futures were up 0.33%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had the indices opening 0.38% and 0.45%.
The Dow closed 27.16 points higher on Thursday following the publication of last month's PPI reading.
Friday's primary focus will be a preliminary reading of the University of Michigan's August consumer sentiment index, scheduled to be released at 1500 BST.
CMC Markets' Michael Hewson said: "In the US, attention is set to switch back to the latest University of Michigan inflation expectations survey for August.
"Attention will be focussed on the 5–10-year inflation expectations survey given the recent fall to 2.9%, and especially whether it sees further weakness, after matching the October 2021 lows back in July."
No major corporate earnings were slated for release on Friday.
