Goldman CEO says UK investment is 'outside our control'
Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein has implied further uncertainty surrounding the bank’s investment in the UK, saying Brexit has left "so much outside our control".
Earlier this month, Blankfein signaled the US investment bank would move some of its European operations to Frankfurt as a result of the UK’s departure from the EU.
Tweeting an aerial photo taken of Goldman’s new London headquarters still under construction, Blankfein said he hoped the bank could keep and create more jobs in the City.
"GS still investing in our big new Euro headquarters here. Expecting/hoping to fill it up, but so much outside our control.#Brexit," the banking boss wrote.

Uncertainty remains for many business leaders as the UK struggles to agree a deal with the bloc about the terms of Brexit, with Brussels unwilling to speak about issues such as trade and rights until Theresa May commits to a financial settlement.
Goldman had already begun work on its new European HQ in London before Britons decided to leave in last June’s referendum.
