PM said to confirm he will push for elections on 12 December
The Prime Minister will call a general election for 12 December.
According to Sky News political editor Lewis Goodall, Boris Johnson has confirmed his intention to dissolve Parliament under the Fixed Term Parliaments Act on 28 October and to push for a vote in mid-December.
That would mark the first December election since 1923.
In an immediate reaction, as of 1708 BST the pound was trading 0.51% lower against the euro at 1.1541.
