Pro-EU campaign to be led by Ocado chairman
It was announced over the weekend that Lord Stuart Rose will head up the all-party campaign to keep the UK in the European Union.
Rose, who is the former boss of retail giant Marks and Spencer and current chairman of Ocado, believes an exit by the UK would be a "leap into the unknown".
"The choice in the coming referendum is between remaining stronger, safer and better off inside Europe, or taking a leap into the unknown, risking our prosperity, threatening our safety, and diminishing our influence in the world," the Conservative peer said.
Rose's comments come after Friday saw the launch of the all-party out campaign, Vote Leave.
David Cameron, who met with Angela Merkel the same day, told the German Chancellor that he intends to "secure reforms and then keep the United Kingdom in a reformed EU", but admitted there remained "much to be worked through in order to find a solution".
The Prime Minister has promised to hold a referendum on the issue before the end of 2017.
