UK construction output dips in February
Output in the UK construction industry dipped 0.3% in February compared with the previous month, falling short of expectations for no change, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.
Compared with the same month last year, output rose 0.3%.
For the three months to February, output was up 1.5% compared with the previous three months, marking its fastest rate of growth since March 2015.
Housebuilding increased 6.8% in the three months - its biggest jump since March 2014.
Samuel Tombs, chief UK economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, said: "The latest construction figures provide more evidence that concerns about the EU referendum are sapping the recovery of its momentum."
