The appointments, which take effect at the end of the month, follow the retirement of Bob Ivell which was flagged by the company in January 2015.
Sutherland is currently Group Chief Executive Officer of SuperGroup, and was previously Group Chief Executive Officer for the Co-op group of companies.
He has also been Group Chief Operating Officer at Kingfisher, Chief Executive Officer of B&Q and Chief Executive of Superdrug owner AS Watson UK.

Clark is currently managing director of SABMiller's European business, and a member of the executive committee of the brewer's global corporate outfit.
She joined the company in 2003 as corporate affairs director and was part of the executive team to make it one of the top five FTSE companies.
She has also held a number of senior roles in other UK companies, including director of corporate affairs for Railtrack Group and Scottish Power.
Britvic chairman Gerald Corbett said he is delighted to welcome the pair to the board.
“Euan brings strong retail sector knowledge and general management and marketing experience.
“Sue has headed up corporate affairs at a number of large British companies and her latter experience running SABMiller Europe places her in a unique position to contribute to the development of Britvic.”
Corbett also paid tribute to Ivell.
“Bob has been our senior independent director since we floated over ten years ago and has chaired our Remuneration Committee for the last eight years.
“We will miss his wise counsel and wish him well in the future.”
