Cairn Energy's Chimera wildcat well dry
Cairn Energy said on Thursday that the Chimera 'wildcat' exploration well in the UK North Sea was dry.

The well was drilled to a vertical depth of 1,830 metres below the sea surface and was terminated in the Lista Formation in the Paleocene. It will now be permanently plugged and abandoned.
Cairn was the operator of the well, with a 45% interest, while Suncor Energy held a 40% interest and DNO had a 15% interest.
At 0905 BST, the shares were down 1.1% at 199.40p.
