David Drumm arrested on extradition warrant in US
David Drumm, the former chief executive of Anglo Irish Bank, has been arrested in the US on an extradition warrant.
Drumm, who headed up the company between 2005 until its collapse in 2008, will be held in custody in Boston until Tuesday ahead of his federal court hearing, the US Attorney's Office in Massachusetts said.
The 48-year-old has lived in the US for the past six years, having left Ireland at the time of the bank's collapse.
He filed for bankruptcy following the collapse, but this failed and it was ruled that he could be held liable for £8.34m in debt.
Drumm will appear at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse on Tuesday.
