The AIM-traded firm said the opening came on the back of its acquisition of the first among 15 former depots of Tuffnells Express in late June, with the Norwich depot an addition to those acquisitions.
It said the depot, strategically positioned in Caley Close, north-west of Norwich city centre, spans 23,913 square feet.
The new site was set to fortify the group's parcels network - a segment of the DX Express division.
DX’s board said the depot would be pivotal in elevating operational efficiencies, and was also geared towards curbing carbon emissions and cutting stem mileage.
Additionally, the facility was poised to uplift customer service levels, aligning with the group's emphasis on customer-centricity.
In a move to streamline operations, the current depot located in east Norwich, within the precincts of Broadlands Business Park, would pivot to exclusively serve the DX Freight division.
To cater to the unique needs of freight operations, a raised dock was slated for installation at the site, in a bid to augment efficiency.
“The current financial year is a major year of investment - this latest depot opening in Norwich significantly increases our capability in the area for both our parcels and freight operations,” said chief executive officer Paul Ibbetson.
“It also delivers further efficiencies, environmental and customer service benefits.
“Enlarging and improving the depot network underpins the continued successful delivery of our growth plans over the short to medium term, and we look forward to reporting on further openings over the coming months.”
At 1328 BST, shares in DX Group were up 0.37% at 35.13p.
