The FTSE 250 investment firm announced the review on Monday, the first major review since it was approved in October 2006.
It had been amended in February 2015 regarding capital structure, distributions and fees, but interim chairman Dame Kate Barker said the strategy had been largely unchanged in nearly 10 years.
“Together with the outcome of the General Meeting on 5 November 2015, which indicated that a significant proportion of shareholders wish a review to take place, this has led the board to conclude now is the right time to undertake one.
“We will look at whether the current strategy remains best suited to maximise shareholder value in the future.”
Investors were pleased with the announcement, with shares up 42p (1.23%) to 3,460p at 0917 GMT.
