After 1500 GMT, the Africa-based low cost airline announced Tim Ingram, easyGroup's representative on the board, had resigned with immediate effect.
"The board has regrettably accepted Tim's resignation," said Fastjet non-executive chairman Colin Child.
"I would like to thank Tim for his contribution and professionalism during his time with the board, and wish him well for the future," he added.
Shares in Fastjet plunged early on Friday morning, after easyGroup went public with a letter relating to the pair's contractual relations.
At the time, Fastjet said it could not understand why easyGroup, acting as either a 12.6% shareholder or brand owner, published the letter without first raising its concerns with the company.
