Henry - who will report into Grainger's director of investments, Andrew Saunderson - joins from LaSalle Investment Management, where he was residential fund manager, investing in build to rent and the private rental sector. Prior to that, he worked at Jones Lang LaSalle and King Sturge, and has more than 16 years of real estate experience.
He will be responsible for helping drive further growth in Grainger's £1.2bn investment plan into the UK private rented sector and build to rent sector.
Chief executive Helen Gordon said: "I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Henry as Grainger's national acquisitions director. Tom has a wealth of experience in the UK build to rent and PRS sectors. His appointment is a reflection of our continued growth ambitions."
Henry is due to start early next year.
