Inmarsat wins GX Aviation contract with Colombian airline Avianca
Satellite communications services provider Inmarsat said on Thursday that Colombia's Avianca has become the first Latin American airline to adopt its in-flight connectivity solution GX Aviation.

The service will initially be made available to passengers on around 125 Avianca Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 787 aircraft, with the potential for additional aircraft to be provisioned later on. Avianca's GX-equipped aircraft are currently expected to be rolled out at the end of the year.
Inmarsat, which did not disclose any financial details of the 10-year contract., said the agreement underlines the continuing momentum behind its next generation in-flight connectivity (IFC) services.
The company now has over 1,200 aircraft installations expected under signed contracts for its IFC services.
At 0850 BST, the shares were up 1.1% to 813p.
