Jaeger owners said to be exploring sale after bid approach
The owner of British fashion label Jaeger is reportedly exploring a sale of the company just weeks before the Christmas trading period gets under way.
Sky News said Better Capital, the investment firm which owns the brand, has decided to pursue takeover discussions with interested parties and has asked advised at AlixPartners to oversee the talks.
Sky cited a person close to Better Capital as saying that a formal auction was not planned but that the firm was responding to interest from unnamed buyers.
The news follows Better's decision last week to sell luxury yacht-maker Fairline, which is another of its troubled investments.
Last month, Better Capital revealed that Jaeger’s boss Colin Henry was quitting his role at the retailer two years after being brought in to turn the business around.
