The FTSE 250 firm said Barnes has over 25 years experience in the Lloyd’s market, most recently as deputy active underwriter at Syndicate 2121 where he was an underwriter since its foundation in 1999.
It said he will also lead on reinsurance structuring and purchasing for Syndicates 2010 and 3010, and assist with reinsurance coverage for the wider Lancashire group.
“Jon’s broad market experience and in particular his knowledge of property lines will strengthen our reinsurance offering,” said Richard Williams, the active underwriter for Cathedral Syndicates 2010 and 3010.
“Jon will also make an important contribution to the structuring of our Lloyd’s and Group outwards reinsurance programmes.
“I very much look forward to welcoming Jon to Cathedral and the Lancashire Group,” Williams added.
