Mars widens product recall to 55 countries
Global chocolate manufacturer Mars has announced a mass product recall in 55 countries after bits of plastic impurities were found in a sample.
Confirming the recall on Tuesday, a spokesperson said that apart from Mars bars, Milky Way Minis and Miniatures, and selected boxes of Celebrations were also affected.
Initially the recall was announced in Germany, but subsequently the manufacturer extended it to 55 countries including the UK, France, Belgium, Italy and Spain, according to Reuters.
Mars has not specified how many packs are affected, but revealed that all packages being recalled have best before dates from 19 June 2016 to 8 January 2017.
"With this recall, we would like to prevent consumers who have purchased one of the above-mentioned products from consuming it," the company added.
