Mondi sees higher interim earnings as net charges fall
Paper and packaging company Mondi said it expected half-year underlying earnings to be higher than the €852m (£765m) reported in 2018 as it forecast a big jump in earnings per share.

The company on Tuesday said special item net charges after tax for the half year to June 30 were expected to fall to €2m compared with €81m.
As a result Mondi said it expected basic underlying earnings per share (EPS) to be 4% - 11% higher in a range of 93 – 99 cents, basic EPS 28% - 37% higher at 93 to 99 and basic headline EPS 93 - 99 cents, an increase of 9% - 16%.
