It follows the retirement of Richard Cotton from the FTSE 250 listed company’s board on Wednesday.
Young has more than 15 years of board experience across the logistics, financial services, food manufacturing and fast-moving consumer goods sectors, most recently serving as a non-executive director of BNY Mellon International Asset Management and AA.
David Rough was appointed a non-executive director of John Laing Group in February and was previously group director of investments at Legal & General for 10 years prior to his retirement in 2002.
Hansteen chairman James Hambro said the two new non-executive directors have a wealth of experience on the boards of a broad range of both listed and unlisted companies.
