Nick Jeffery to step down as Vodafone UK chief
Vodafone Group announced on Tuesday that Vodafone UK chief executive officer Nick Jeffery had decided to take up a new role outside the company, and would be leaving Vodafone on 15 February.

The FTSE 100 telecoms provider said Ahmed Essam would become the new CEO of Vodafone UK from 1 February.
It said Essam had been group chief commercial operations and strategy officer since 2018, and would remain on the executive committee.
He joined Vodafone in 1999, and had held a number senior roles, including CEO of the Europe cluster, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, commercial director for Vodafone's Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific region, as well as group and local commercial functions including consumer business and customer care.
Alex Froment-Curtil would become group chief commercial officer and would join the executive committee on 1 February.
Froment-Curtil joined Vodafone in 2003, working at group level and in markets including CEO for Vodafone Hungary, Egypt and Turkey.
“I want to thank Nick for his contribution to Vodafone over his many years with the company and in particular for the achievement in recent years of strengthening Vodafone UK’s position in the UK market,” said group chief executive officer Nick Read.
“I am pleased that Ahmed, an experienced Vodafone executive, has accepted this new role as CEO of Vodafone UK and I welcome Alex to his new group role and to the executive committee.”
At 1417 GMT, shares in Vodafone Group were up 0.18% at 131.4p.
