The FTSE 250 company said he would be joining from Tenneco, where he was currently executive vice-president of finance.
During the prior 35 years, he had held a variety of leadership positions in finance at Emerson Electric, GKN, Meridian Automotive and BorgWarner, where he served as chief financial officer and executive vice-president from 2012 through 2018.
Hundzinski was also currently a non-executive director of Gentherm, a publicly-traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.
He would succeed Timothy Knutson who, as TI had previously announced, was pursuing other interests outside of the group.
Knulson would remain in his current positions until 31 December.
“The group is grateful to Tim for his many significant contributions over the past decade working with the team and our key stakeholders,” said chief executive officer William Kozyra.
Chairman Manfred Wennemer added that he was welcoming Hundzinski to the board and the company’s senior executive team.
“He brings both financial expertise and a depth of experience in the automotive industry.”
