The FTSE 250 company said the cooling plates would form a crucial component in an electric hybrid vehicle being produced by an unnamed Italian automotive brand.
It said the battery cooling plates, a product of collaborative efforts between Crumlin and Valmet, emerged from its research and development centre in Crumlin, South Wales.
To meet the production requirements, manufacturing for the contract would be executed at the Crumlin facility, which would house a dedicated battery cooling production and assembly line.
“Senior Flexonics is a world leader in developing high performance thermal management solutions,” said Senior Flexonics chief executive officer Mike Sheppard.
“Our battery cooling plates enable our customers to extend electric vehicle range and preserve battery life by ensuring the cells remain at their optimum working temperature through their life cycle.
“We are very pleased to be supplying Valmet and our end customer with an innovative solution for this exciting opportunity.”
