The AIM-traded firm said the collaboration was aiming to develop a range of low-carbon concrete products.
SigmaRoc said Mevo had successfully developed a process that produces an emission-free substitute for ready-mix and precast concrete.
Unlike conventional cement production, which heavily relies on fossil fuels and operates at high temperatures, Mevo's method reportedly allows for cement production at ambient temperatures using various waste materials and feedstocks.
By using industrial waste streams, the process minimised the need for fossil fuel consumption and substantially reduced carbon emissions.
SigmaRoc said it had embarked on trials for product development in collaboration with Mevo, with initial testing to take place at SigmaRoc’s precast concrete manufacturer CCP.
“Our partnership with Mevo marks a significant step towards an emissions-free solution for ready-mix and precast concrete,” said SigmaRoc’s Fons Vermorken.
“Through our trials at CCP, we are confident that these innovative products will not only meet market demand but also pave the way to transforming the cement industry and driving sustainable innovation.”
At 1525 BST, shares in SigmaRoc were down 2.1% at 56p.
