The FTSE 100 company claimed the Vitop tap occupied the number one position globally for wine taps, adding that it had “revolutionised” the company’s trademarked ‘Bag-in-Box’ system.
It explained that the Vitop tap grew in popularity due to its tamper-proof design and high oxygen barrier, which provided extended shelf life and product freshness for what is typically seen as in inferior wine product.
Smurfit Kappa said tests on the Vitop tap had revealed it to have a leak rate of one in five million, with ease of use also contributing to its appeal as it apparently required little effort to obtain a regular flow rate and was self-closing.
“Vitop stands out for its reliability, service and dynamism,” blustered Didier Pontcharraud, chief executive of Smurfit Kappa’s Vitop division.
“There is only one tap that can claim an almost zero leak rate and thanks to our team working with great expertise, skill and passion, we can offer an excellent product, every day and throughout every part of the world.”
