He joined Ladbrokes in 2012 as finance director for its UK digital business and has subsequently held senior finance positions within Ladbrokes Coral and then, following its acquisition, within GVC.
Prior to this, he worked at travel firm TUI from 2001, where his roles included finance director of Commercial from 2008 to 2012. He has also held finance positions with Tiny Computers and Hertz Leasing.
Chief executive Russell Down said: "He brings a wealth of finance, acquisition and digital knowledge to Speedy which will be invaluable to the delivery of our strategy."
Broker Peel Hunt said: "His digital skills are likely to be highly relevant given Speedy’s strategy, and his relatively quick appointment (the previous CFO resigned in June) is likely to be well received."
