Stagecoach announces board changes; deputy chairman to step down

Transport operator Stagecoach announced some changes to its board of directors as it said deputy chairman and senior independent director Garry Watts plans to step down on 1 April.

Phil White will resign from the board with effect from 23 April after six years to pursue other interests.

Stagecoach said Will Whitehorn, currently a non-executive director of the company, will assume the role of deputy chairman and senior independent director with effect from 1 April.

The search for an additional two non-executive directors is underway.

At 1600 GMT, Stagecoach shares were down 0.8% to 266.70p.
