The bank also announced that independent non-executive director and chair of the Board Risk Committee Lars Thunell has decided to step down.
StanChart said Thunell will be focusing a greater amount of his time on his role as chairman of African Risk Capacity.
Meanwhile, David Philbrick Conner will join the bank’s board in January, succeeding Thunell as chair of the board risk committee.
Chairman Sir John Peace said: “David Conner brings significant banking and risk management experience and a deep understanding of Asian markets.”
Markland and Skinner’s departures were originally announced in February as part of a wider overhaul of the group’s board of directors, during which Bill Winters was appointed as chief executive officer.
At 1038 GMT, StanChart shares were 2.4% higher at 564.60p.
