TVR confirms move to Wales
Luxury car maker TVR confirmed its move to Wales on Tuesday, investing millions of pounds in a new site at Ebbw Vale.
The privately-held automotive company’s announcement came a month after Aston Martin confirmed a similar move, building a production facility at St Athan.
TVR said it was evaluating a number of sites in Ebbw Vale, all of them within the town’s specifically-designated enterprise zone for the automotive industry.
The town was also the setting for the planned £315m Circuit of Wales which, if funded, would have a planned one million square foot industrial park located next to it - a possible location for TVR.
The company had previously considered co-locating with Aston Martin at an ex-MoD hangar in St Athan.
All things going to plan, 2,000 cars will be rolling off the Welsh production line each year by 2022.
