Wizz Air continues to see solid growth in November
Central and Eastern Europe-focussed airline Wizz Air issued its passenger statistics for November on Tuesday, reporting an 11.2% improvement year-on-year in passenger numbers, to 2,400,337.

The FTSE 250 low-cost carrier said its capacity was ahead 7.7% at 2,631,744 for November, leading to a 2.9 percentage point increase in its load factor to 91.2% compared to the same time last year.
On a rolling 12-month basis, capacity was up 18.6% at 36,187,300 and passenger numbers rose 19.7% to 33,401,909, making for a load factor of 92.3%, which was 0.9 percentage points higher.
“In November 2018, Wizz Air continued to grow its network, enhance its operations and improve its customer offering,” the board said in its statement.
Among the operational highlights, Wizz said Krakow became its 26th base, with two brand new Airbus A321 aircraft deployed from summer 2019 operating 12 new routes to nine countries.
It also reported further consolidation of Wizz Air's number one market position in Hungary and Romania , with the deployment of two additional brand new Airbus A321 aircraft.
During the month, the airline announced 17 new routes to and from Poland and Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, and Lithuania.
It also confirmed the further expansion of its fleet, with the delivery of an additional brand new Airbus A321, taking Wizz Air's current fleet to 105 aircraft.
November also saw the inauguration of Wizz Air's brand new €30m pilot and cabin crew training centre in Budapest.
“The facility currently operates two full motion simulators and can train up to 300 crew members on a daily basis,” the Wizz Air board said.
