Workspace CEO Jamie Hopkins quits for personal reasons

Hopkins will leave on 31 May “due to extenuating personal circumstances”, the FTSE 250 company said. Graham Clemett, chief financial officer, will take over as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.

Hopkins said: “My decision to leave has been made purely on personal grounds and I look forward to closely following Workspace's continued success. I intend to remain a shareholder of the company and wish everyone at Workspace the best for the future."

Workspace said current trading was in line with expectations. In November the company, which provides flexible office space in London, reported a fall in first-half profit as property valuations rose more slowly though it said demand was stable.

Chairman Daniel Kitchen said: “Jamie leaves the business in fantastic shape with a clear and proven strategy …Workspace has a strong senior management team and the board is confident that the business will be in good hands while the search for a new chief executive is underway. We look forward to updating the market on performance and trading at the full-year results in June."
